Part of a 15 person team which designed and developed the Node Manager
client for the next generation SONET switch using Java/CORBA.

Developed GUI for the Node Manager with over 60 screens and dialogs using
Java 1.2 and JFC in Symantec Cafe 3.5 development environment. Worked with
marketing and domain experts to design a flat, easy to navigate UI which
allows users to easily traverse from one task to another using JTree components
and popup menus.

Used interfaces to create an extensible framework of classes for navigating
and populating the GUI. With this framework in place, developers could
easily to populate new screens with the data from CORBA objects, significantly
cutting down development time. The navigation framework allows users to
easily jump between tasks for a specific physical or logical component.
Together, both frameworks provide for easy integration of the Element Manager
into the Element Management System.

Part of a 12 person, geographically distributed team which designed and
documented the EMS server for Ciena Telecom products. Using EJBs, RMI and
CORBA, the design included a mediation layer that allowed for inital development
and management to be limited to one type of equipment while allowing other
equipment, even third-party, to be added later. Implemented the mediation
layer interfaces for the CoreDirector product.

Developed an online resource for energy suppliers and multifamily property
owners, managers, and facility managers. Used to retrieve demographic data
on the multifamily market, information on multifamily energy use characteristics
and the trends affecting housing features.

Developed web site for Small Businesses Target of the EPRI Commercial Technologies
and Services Business Area to allow target members to view and order research
and marketing documents on-line. Used existing Web APIs to interface with
member database and ordering processes.

Customer Systems Group - Product Value Tool

Developed 100+ worksheet, multi-file, cross-platform sales tool application
for EPRI’s Customer Service Group using Excel and VBA. This application
helped sales staff show the value of the EPRI’s research to its member
utilities by setting up scenarios for individual utilities based on the
formula for value developed by EPRI.

The final application included a complete user interface including custom
menus, dialog boxes, buttons, drop down boxes and dynamically adjusted
values for currency rate changes, metric conversions and rounding.

Developed context-sensitive on-line help system to help users understand
the value of each EPRI product.

Developed installation for Windows NT, Windows 95 and Windows 3.1 platforms.

Rehired in 1997 to update product for 1998 offering and again in 1998 for
1999 offering plus additional modification to support all Excel version

Developed and programmed commerical web site for coffee house. Included
Frames-based site navigation, HTML, Forms, Image Maps, secure ordering
and Cold Fusion interface to backend database. Used JavaScript for field
validation and calculating order values and shipping costs.

Coordinated with client and developed much of the content. Coordinated
with artist for artwork. Scanned and modified images as well as used digital
camera to take product shots.
Pacific Gas & Electric, 2/95-5/95

Part of the Business Systems Replacement Project at Pacific Gas & Electric
to implement SAP. Worked with PG&E staff to determine which of their
20,000 employees would required training in each of the different functions
and activities of SAP.

Developed PG&E Managers Toolkit using Excel and VBA to aid the collection
of data from the field for training requirements. Developed programs to
automatically query an Access database to deliver customized toolkits for
each manager. An in-depth help file was also included which explained each
of the functions and processes including process flow charts to assist
managers in completing and returning the toolkit.

Designed, programmed, and marketed a commercial application, PowerPause,
which focuses on the alleviation of Cumulative Trauma Disorders in computer
users. Implemented using Microsoft Visual Basic Professional 3.0 with custom
controls and Microsoft Access 2.0. Developed context sensitive help system,
documentation and installation scripts.

projections for the business plan of a manufacturing startup. Integrated
projections in to the business plan in Microsoft Word for Windows 6.0 using
